from the fans

Hi Katya,

I just received your CD by mail... I got it by being the fifth one to email KPIG a couple Sundays ago when you [played on] Sleepy John's show. Thank you so much for sending it - I'm playing it as I type this.

I consider "Off the Map" one of the most affecting love songs I've heard - something about that immense, high desert surround folds back magically into a wonderful sense of intimacy, and the slide work in the background sets up the beauty of the lyrics with a perfect resonance. Jeez, it sounds like I'm imitating some half-in-the-bag Napa Valley wine taster. Well, the song leaves me feeling a little drunk and mind-expanded, so maybe it's not entirely inappropriate to go a bit over the top about it.

The entire album is wonderful, and I'm so glad I had the chance to hear you live on KPIG. You can be assured I'll spread the word about your talent!

Thanks again,
Craig (Santa Cruz, CA)

Katya, Hi. I'm a fan of yours! I was at the Leavenworth coffeehouse recently, and I really enjoy your music. I've had your lyrics running through my head now ever since and it lifts my spirits. I especially love the songs Blessing Bowl and Blue Moonlight. Your voice is so easy to listen to, so powerful in a gentle way, and you had me in tears from the beginning with Unspoken. I wish you well on your road trips.

Sincerely,
Amy M (Leavenworth, WA)

Katya,

I heard your song "War of the Day" on [KBCS]. It jumped out of the stereo...I would love to play this song for people in my life to help put a voice to my thoughts, and maybe use it in [an upcoming] slideshow presentation. I'm hoping your CD "Off the Map" is available to send now...

Thank you for the voice, the words and the wonderful place you sent me when I heard them.

Be well and best wishes,
Kristine S (Seattle WA)

Hi Katya,

I just wanted to drop a quick note to thank you for your wonderful music last night. Your voice beautifully fills the room - sweet, rich and versatile. Listening, I'm filled with sweet memories of summer and the glad feel of days to come. You are one who I can truly say spreads a little sunshine, joy and perspective into all of our lives, so I'm glad to know your devoting yourself to your wonderful work and following the path where it may take you...

Cheers,
Dane (Seattle WA)
